Best Halloween-ish Albums

After giving Suspiria’s score a listen I’ve been wondering what other good Halloween albums are out there. I’ve found myself returning to The Seer every October since it’s release, what are some of your favorite albums for October?

Yellow House - Grizzly Bear
Repave - Volcano Choir
Spiderland - Slint
Over the Garden Wall Soundtrack
In Utero - Nirvana
After the Gold Rush - Neil Young
Benji - Sun Kil Moon
Kveikur - Sigur Rós
All things Tom Waits

Swans’ The Seer definitely enters my list, as well as Slint’s Spiderland. Both of them are absolute masterpieces.

Some albums that I’d say that are suitable for Halloween are:
Have a Nice Life - Deathconsciousness (listening to “Bloodhail” off of this album right now, actually)
Coil - The Ape of Naples
Tim Hecker - Virgins
Oneohtrix Point Never - Replica
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures / Closer
Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition
Lil Ugly Mane - Mista Thug Isolation
Julian Casablancas + The Voidz - Tyranny
Scott Walker - Bish Bosch
Royal Trux - Twin Infinitives
Earth - Earth 2: Special Low Frequency Version
Nico - The Marble Index
Women - Public Strain
Les Rallizes Dénudés - '77 Live
Sunn O))) - Black One / Monoliths and Dimensions
Fever Ray - Self-Titled
Nails - You Will Never Be One of Us / Unsilent Death
Pig Destroyer - Natasha
Earl Sweatshirt - I Don’t Like Shit, I Don’t Go Outside / Doris
Oxbow - Thin Black Duke
Burzum - Filosofem
Grouper - Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill
Comus - First Utterance

Not really a huge fan of these albums, but worth a shot if you’re curious:
Richard Dawson - Peasant
Brotha Lynch Hung - Season of da Siccness / Mannibalector

Few more good ones I could remember. King Diamond is a trove of great b-movie cheese, love him.

Ulver’s Perdition City is a great pick as well.

My red metal album collection of course

Danny Brown - Atrocity Exhibition
The Haxan Cloak - Excavation
Tim Hecker - Ravedeath, 1972
Silver Mt. Zion - He Has Left Us Alone But Shafts of Light Sometimes Grace…
Chelsea Wolfe - Pain Is Beauty
Blanck Mass - World Eater

Although, around this time of year I’m listening to the likes of Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, Ryan Adams, Mac Demarco, Courtney Barnett, Elliot Smith, Bon Iver, The National, Animal Collective, Explosions in the Sky and Godspeed.

November is when Bon Iver, Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, Sufjan, Microphones/Mount Eerie, etc. are all I listen to. From November to like February I listen to nothing but that stuff.

November is pretty much Joanna Newsom month for me.

Co-sign most albums here and would like to submit PJ Harvey’s To Bring You My Love for consideration. The title track alone feels immensely Halloween-ish.

Haunted atmospherics and crunchy beats.
