Best Rappers of the Decade

I remember that the last time I posted on here it was about my favorite albums of the decade. Now I’m interested to see who you guys think are the best hip hop artists of the 2010’s so far, as it’s the decade when rap really took off in terms of the mainstream and has hit the ears of nearly everyone.

here’s my list, no order:
Danny Brown
Lil Ugly Mane
Das Racist (along with a solid portion of Heems / Kool A.D.'s solo work)
Kendrick Lamar
Kanye West
Run the Jewels
and fuck it, I’ll throw Young Thug and Yung Lean in there as well purely because of the waves they caused within the genre.

in no order:

Kendrick Lamar
Run the Jewels
Danny Brown
Kanye West
Vince Staples
Meechy Darko (could just say Flatbush Zombies but Meech stands out)
Freddie Gibbs
I guess you could include Death Grips?

Also, shout out to Action Bronson. Maybe not critically one of the best but he’s easily one of the most entertaining rappers of this decade.

My top hip hop artists/collabs/groups of the decade. none of these are decided by their technical abilities in rapping or production chops at all, but more on what and how they contribute to the hip hop genre as a whole.

Death Grips
Babyfather
Travis Miller (Lil Ugly Mane, Bedwetter, Shawn Kemp, and many other aliases)
Freddie Gibbs & Madlib
Tropes
Billy Woods (+ others on the Backwoodz roster - Elucid, Armand Hammer)
Busdriver
Milo
Big K.R.I.T.
Danny Brown

Probably uncertain with a few atm, but the first half is pretty much essential

i guess my list is more of a top hip hop artists than top rappers (which id give to kendrick)

tpab and gkmc seal the deal for me, there are better lyricist out there but no one brings it musically better than kdot.

‘Never Catch Me’ collab w flylo is brilliant

carti’s your muse right

2014/2015 soundcloud was a beautiful thing for underground hip hop, that’s where I first discovered his music. He was under Awful Records and ETHEREAL and him made a really unique team. Love his solo work more than I do his features though… I also understand his lyrics don’t really stand out from one another but for me it has always been about flow and the feeling that comes with music that lack lyrical substance. Give Broke Boi, talk, Fetti & YUNGXANHOE a shot when you get the chance.

In order:
Earl Sweatshirt
MF Doom (This far into his career and he is unrivialed, and his releases remain consistent up to present day)
Danny brown
Andre 3000 (If he release a solo album its over)
Kendrick Lamar
Young Fathers
Flatbush Zombies
Isaiah Rashad
Travis Scott
Chance the Rapper (So disappointing lately, but Acid Rap shows the boy ain’t nothing to play with)

DOOM and Andre in the 2010’s??? cmon son, they’ve barely put out anything worth mentioning aside from a couple verses.

Doom is trash atm. I like nothing coming out of the new album.

Lol, cant believe I have to defend MF Doom hehe,
Well besides the album that is currently being rolled out now(The Missing Notebook Rhymes)

He has released 1.Keys to the Kuff( Which I think is fucking amazing) 2. Bookhead EP( which has Thom Yorke, BBNG, Beck, Damon Albarn, Clams Casino remixes of KttK) 3.NehruvianDoom (Average), The fan made 4.SadeVillian( Really good ), a live album and as you mentioned a couple verses.

As far as Andre 3000 goes, I hold him in his position because of his previous content along with every verse he has put out in the 2010’s (which have been worth mentioning) to me ^^:
Solo(Reprise), Pink Matter, The Ends, Hello, By Design, The Guide, The Real Her, Kids.
Those verses alone show he has been honing his skill, and in what regard other rappers hold him and as I said if he were to release an album, RIP (Unlike say Nas who hasnt been active at all, or Jay who hasnt retained his level)

Definitely better than say Das Racist, like cmon son what has Heems released since 2011 worth mentioning?

Soz, forgot to do the reply thing ^^ a bit new to this section of the site.
