Yeah as mentioned Rodeo is one that critics definitely didn’t appreciate at the time, sounds great now, way better than Travis’ more recent output. Another one would be Congratulations by MGMT (https://www.albumoftheyear.org/album/1336-mgmt-congratulations.php), definitely underwhelmed critics at the time, users here tend to really like it. I think that MGMT wound up in the unfortunate spot of getting hated on by casual fans who liked their 3 poppy singles and found Congratulations obtuse, and artsy critics who wrote them off as a basic white colleged kid electro pop act and didn’t bother to dig in to see how interesting and serious their music really was.
